Have you ever thought about this before………….

What happens to you when you die? Remember the homepage? 10 out of 10 will, no one can dodge it; someday sooner or later it will be our turn.

Interesting question isn’t it? Most people would say something like

"Hopefully I would go to heaven”

We may respond to that with - “What makes you think that?

Again, most people would say something like.................

"Well, I’m a pretty good person, I try to live a good life, don’t hurt anybody etc, etc.

Now this raises another question. Who decides who is good, and who isn’t.? Who decides who gets into heaven and who doesn’t?

Well, chances are if you have heard of heaven then you will have heard of GOD. The bible makes it clear, heaven is where GOD lives, it’s his house if you like and he then, decides who gets in and who stays out.

God’s standard for entry is very straight forward. They are called the 10 commandments.

So, it seems we can know if we will get into heaven when we die by answering a few short questions based on these commandments.

Have you ever told a lie? Even one, ever?
A person who tells a lie is called a? go on you can say it, A liar!

Have you ever stolen anything? No matter how big or small, no matter the value?
A person who steals is called a? Your getting it now aren’t you! A thief.

The Bible says you shall not commit adultery. Jesus took it further by saying “if you even look at a person to lust after them, you have committed already in your heart?

Who can deny that! 

Now if you have been honest, and unless you are one minute old! By your own admission you are a lying thieving adulterer at heart who, according to the bible will one day have to face GOD - who even knows the things we have thought about let alone done!

Don’t dismay at this point, truth is we are all the same; we have ALL broken all the commandments if we are honest. For the sake of being kind, we only went through three.

So who on their own merit, can go to heaven when they die?

NO ONE!

So who gets in then? Only those who have accepted their condition before GOD, our creator and sustainer, and are ready to have this burden lifted by accepting that Jesus has paid the penalty on their behalf and are ready to live life according to his plan from now on.

Jesus died so that you could be reconciled to GOD! Incredible isn’t it?

Don’t wait another moment. Why take the sentence for your own offence to GOD when you don’t have to!

Say a prayer right now (yes, sitting just where you are) telling GOD you are sorry for going your own way. Tell him you will go his way from this moment forward and that you are deeply sorry for your sin. Ask him for a fresh start and the strength to live life according to his will and purpose.

Get a Bible, read it every day and do what you read!

Find other believers to spend time with, learn from and pray with. (We can help if you are stumped on that one).

Now, more great news. As well as the assurance of eternal life that comes with forgiveness you also have a whole host of promises from GOD right at your disposal. For you, the gamble is gone, you now know that you will spend eternity with GOD in heaven, and you have his ever present help the rest of your life.
